Announcing the Winners of the 2009 Beyond Green High-Performance Building Awards! The Sustainable Buildings Industry Council (SBIC), along with our sponsors is pleased to announce the winners of the 2009 Beyond Green^TMHigh-Performance Building Awards. The Awards distinguish the initiatives that shape and catalyze the high-performance building market, as well as the real-world application of high-performance design and construction practices. This year, the Council is recognizing a first place winner in category A, high-performance buildings and has given citations to four other outstanding projects.  Click Here for Full Press Release       

 New Resources on Site Security.  On behalf of the General Services Administration, SBIC has contributed several new resources on building site security to the Whole Building Design Guide.  The GSA has responded to changing security requirements by calling for innovative physical solutions that: support design excellence, contribute to sustainability and environmental preservation, create buildings that will endure into the future, provide safe, productive federal workplaces, and improve the communities in which we work.  This new process entails looking beyond the scope of buildings to include the surrounding site and community.  These new Web pages offer an introduction to the topic as well as an overview of the process outlined in GSA's Site Security Design Guide.  visit the WBDG to learn more
